Swapping A Device On INSIGHT

WARNING!

If your data is used for auditing, reporting...etc., you will want to backup your data prior to deletion. There is a cost for retrieving data from a deleted device from INSIGHT and may not be possible after an extended period of time after deletion.

NOTE:

Do NOT Delete A Device From INSIGHT Until All Data Is Exported

 Device(s) are considered "Active" if viewable on the dashboard. Devices that are "Active" are billed, regardless of offline status. Once you delete the device, it will be removed from INSIGHT.

 

This guide is designed to assist in swapping device for calibration or to replace a defective unit. If you have any questions, please reach out to technical support at 800.635.4269 x1 or start a chat at the bottom of the page. 

 

STEP 1. Backup

STEP 2. Install

STEP 3. Export Data

STEP 4. Delete Device

 

 

STEP 1. Back Up The Unit

1. Unlock the EA800-ip

2. Main menu > System > Load/Save Config.

3. Insert USB and select Save Config and hit "OK" once complete (F3).

4. Power down the EA800-ip and swap the terminal blocks to your new device if needed. If mounted, the blocks can be disconnected prior to removing from wall. 

Your terminal block may be black or green in color. You do NOT need to unscrew the wiring. You should lift the block from the pins. A small tool is recommended to get between the terminal block and the PCB.

 

STEP 2. Install New Unit

1. Ensure the terminal blocks are seated properly. Power on your EA800-ip.

2. Unlock the EA800-ip

3. Main Menu > System > Load/Save Config.

4. Insert USB and select Load Config, select the saved file and "ENTER" (unit will request to reboot).

5. Perform Memory Clearing on the EA800-ip.

6. Log into INSIGHT and add the new device to your account. 

7. Enable Notifications for your device and sensor(s).

a. Notification Profiles will need to be adjusted.

b. Schedule and saved reports will need to be modified.

c. Device settings & response profiles will need to be re-enabled.

 

STEP 3. Export Historical Data From INSIGHT

1. Data export from INSIGHT can require multiple reports to be run. 

a. Log into INSIGHT.

b. Under Account Administration, select the device.

c. If last export is unknown, under the device settings, locate and write down the "Create Date:" to use as the starting date for exporting data.

d. On the Report Tab, select "Sensor Detail Log".

e. Give the report a name and click on "CREATE".

f. Select the device and all sensors that will be removed, click on "CONTINUE".

g. Select "CSV File output".

h. Select the starting month/year for the report, if not known, use the "Create Date:" from step "c".

i.  Report duration is a Max of 31 days, between the start and end date. Select the end of the month and click on 'CREATE REPORT".

j. Save the downloaded CSV file to the local network or an external storage device.

k. Repeat steps H~J until all data is exported from INSIGHT.

 

STEP 4. Remove the device from INSIGHT

1. Click on Account Administration Tab

2. Click on the device you wish to remove

3. Click on "delete device"

Device(s) are considered "Active" if viewable on the dashboard. Devices that are "Active" are billed, regardless of offline status. Once you delete the device, it will be removed from INSIGHT.
